New exhibition Coats of Arms of the City of Belgrade and Belgrade Municipalities was opened in the Gallery of the Historical Archives of Belgrade on 24th December 2019. Mayor of Belgrade professor Dr Zoran Radojičić opened the exhibition. Dragan Gačić, director of the Archives and Dragomir Acović, heraldic expert introduced exhibited material to guests in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition Coats of Arms of the City of Belgrade and Belgrade Municipalities depicts development of territorial heraldry, heraldic and pseudo heraldic symbols (coat of arms, flags, and emblems) which throughout history have been used to symbolize the city of Belgrade and its municipalities. The most significant source for this exhibition was a legacy of Dragomir Acović, founder and long time president of Serbian Heraldic Society „White Eagle“. Author of the exhibition was Marko Perić, historian and archivist of the Historical Archives of Belgrade.

The exhibition can be seen in the Gallery of the Archives by the end of January 2020, and abundantly illustrated catalogue is prepared for the visitors.
Working hours of the Gallery: Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM – 5PM, free entrance.
