Exhibition of the Historical Archives of Belgrade Music in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was presented on December 23rd 2024 in the Historical Archives “Veroslava Velašević“ in Smederevska Palanka.
 
The exhibition was presented for the first time in 2017 in the Gallery of the Belgrade Archives and it narrates the story of music development on the territory of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It consists of seven thematic units – Musical Education, Composers, Musical and Choral Societies in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Social Life – Cultural Blending, Church Music, Choral Music, Military Music. With over one hundred exhibits it presents various institutional identities of music in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, their (in)stability, changeability and its close ties with social and political events.
 
The authors of the exhibition are Dr Irena Kolaj Ristanović and Dragana Mitrašinović. The exhibition was opened by Snežana Savić, acting director of the Historical Archives “Veroslava Velašević“ , Dr Irena Kolaj Ristanović and Bojan Draškić, assistant director of the Historical Archives of Belgrade. Special guest of the opening ceremony was the Church Choir “Sveti Simeon Bogoprimac”.
