International workshop “Celebrating Jewish Heritage in Serbia” was held on the 7th September 2023, in the National Library of Israel, Center for Slavic Cultures. The workshop is a part of At the source program organized by the National Library of Serbia with the main goal to trian professional archivists, librarians and museum curators how to deal with obstacles in their work with Jewish heritage.
Participants of the workshop were greeted by Sally Berkovic from Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe. The workshop was led by Caron Sethill from National Library of Israel and Yochai Ben Ghedalia, Director of Central Archives for the History of the Jewish People.
The program included presentations of implemented projects in the field of the digitization of archival material. Tijana Kovcic, senior archivist in the Historical Archives of Belgrade, presented the project Jewish Digital Collection. Jelena Nikolić, deputy director and Dragana Mitrašinović, senior archivist from the Historical Archives of Belgrade also participated in the workshop, as well as representatives of Historical Archives of Sombor, Jewish Community Novi Sad, Jewish Historical Museum in Belgrade and Jewish Community Split.
