The Department for Digitization, Microfilm and Technical Protection of the Historical Archives of Belgrade initialized a project of sorting and processing of the archival material preserved within collections of Belgrade guilds. The documentation is categorized as archival material of exceptional importance. The basic goal of the project is to permanently preserve and protect this material extremely valuable and until now not often used, which will now become more accessible to the researchers.
The Historical Archives of Belgrade preserve 24 fonds of Belgrade guilds. The documentation covers the period from 1821 until 1937 and it represents inevitable historical source for the research of development of crafts and economy in the second half of the 19th century. This material also keeps various interesting and with aesthetic values documents such as journeyman diplomas and preserved wax seals .

Parallel to the archival processing of this documentation, damaged documents are sent to be repaired in the Laboratory for conservation and restoration of the Belgrade Archives.
