The International Archival Conference "Šabac 2025", organized by the Archival Society of Serbia and the Inter-municipal Archives Šabac, was held from October 8 to 10, 2025 in Šabac, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Archival Society of Serbia, the City of Šabac, Inter-municipal Archives Šabac and Inter-municipal Archives Čačak.
The first day of the conference included a projection of the film about the Inter-municipal Historical Archives Šabac and the presentation of the book "Bibliography of the Magazine "Archivist"" by Slobodanka Cvetković, while the second and third days were dedicated to current issues in archival theory and practice. Also, on Friday, October 10th 2025, a workshop "Current Issues in Archival Theory and Practice" was organzed for archives and legal entities/creators and holders of archival materials and documentary material, which discussed the process of valorization of archival material and documentary material in the context of the latest archival laws and regulations, as well as electronic archiving in the E-archive software solution.
From the Historical Archives of Belgrade, the following participated in the conference: Dragana Mitrašinović, senior archivist, with the paper "Ottoman Heritage in the Musical Work of Said-Efendije" (in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Irena Kolaj Ristanović (Faculty of Philology, Belgrade), MA Marko Perić, archivist with the paper "Overview and Significance of the Collection of Old and Rare Books in Serbian Archives" (in collaboration with Milan Gačić, Library "Milorad Panić Surep"), while the moderator of one session was Jasmina Latinović, archival advisor, who also participated in the workshop as a member of the Archival Society’s Work Group for the Protection of Archival Holdings and Documentary Material Outside the Archives. Mirjana Milenković, archival advisor, also attended the conference as editor of Arhivski glasnik, the informational bulletin of the Archival Society of Serbia.
As in previous years, the conference provided archivists with an opportunity to exchange experiences with the aim of improving their professional work while informing them about contemporary trends in archival activities.
