Students of the Turkish Language, Literature and Culture Program of the Department for Oriental Studies of the Faculty of Philology, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Irena Kolaj Ristanović, visited the Historical Archives of Belgrade on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Senior archivist Dragana Mitrašinović introduced them to the history, significance and work of our institution, as well as to the archival materials preserved in the Archives, which may be useful for their future research. In the second part of the visit, Irena Kolaj Ristanović and Dragana Mitrašinović gave a lecture on "Sources of Serbian Provenance about the Ottoman Turks: on the Example of the Collections Preserved in the Historical Archives of Belgrade".
After the lecture each student read and translated an archival document.
As part of their visit to the Archives, the students also visited the Conservation and Restoration Laboratory, where Željko Divac, a paper restorer, introduced them to the process of treating damaged documents.
