Known Belgrade family, originating from the City of Paraćin, has given the society few high officers, politicians and ministers.The first of them who participated in political life was Jovan Veljković (1795–1894), his son Stojan (1831–1925), and grandsons Vojislav (1865–1931) and Jovan (1862–1945). Mostly, they were members of Liberal Party, National and later Democratic Party. Vojislav Veljković was the President of the City Assembly, during the ocupation, since the end of 1916 until 1917. Family Veljković was in close, family relations with Families Cukić, Petronijević, Lešjanin, Marinković etc.
