International symposium `Wooden wheel and its applicability`
International symposium `Wooden wheel and its applicability` will be held on 26th and 27th September 2014 in Maribor.
Invited by Mrs. Mirjana Koren, director of Maribor Regional Museum, while presenting our exhibition Belgrade though Centuries with a special retrospective on Slovenians in Belgrade, in organization of Regional Archives of Maribor and Historical Archives of Belgrade, we were particularly pleased to accept to participate in the project of this International symposium.
Archivists from our Archives, Olga Latincic and Evica Mickovic participated in the symposium with the paper `Wooden wheel and its applicability in the documents of Historical Archives of Belgrade`.
Selected documents illustrate everyday life in Belgrade and Serbia in 19th and 20th century. They are part of a thematic guide, made for this occasion, which as a scientific finding aid, should direct the researcher towards specific archival documents. The documents illustrate the presence of wheel in the documents of Historical Archives of Belgrade, but also the presence of wheel in various museum collections in Belgrade.
Competition for the position of the director of Historical Archives of Belgrade- Decision of the Managing Board
Based on an open competition for position of director of the Historical Archives of Belgrade, opened on July 15th 2014 and announced in daily papers Danas, so closed on August 15th 2014, the Managing Board of the Archives implemented the procedure for recommendation of candidates.
European Heritage Days 2014 in Historical archives of Belgrade
The Manifestation, organized by the Secretary of Economy, Secretary of Culture and Tourist Organization of Belgrade, supported by The Assembly of the City of Belgrade, every year realizes more than 150 various programs.
The Historical Archives of Belgrade organized tourist tour through the Commemorative room-Legacy of Konstantin Koča Popović (1908–1992) from September 22, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. which includes a part of the Legacy of Sorbonne student, publicist, one of the founders of Belgrade Surrealism Group, literate, Spanish Civil War an Yugoslav National Liberation War, partisan general, and his wife Leposava Lepa Perović. The Legacy includes personal artifacts, lively correspondence, medals, drawings, photos. (The Legacy of Konstantin Koča Popović and Leposava Lepa Perović)

Modernist Architecture in Belgrade, period from 1918 until 1941 . Kalemegdan park walking area
The standing includes plans of 47 public buildings constructed and erected in Belgrade in the period of two world wars in accordance of modern architecture streamline. Among buildings constructed for various purposes the exhibition shows plans of hotels, medical institutions and schools, monuments of banks of the interwar period and insurance companies, different associations, so bridges, Astronomical Observatory in Belgrade, the building of the old power plant, airport hangars (constructed in accordance with the plan of Milutin Milanković) etc.
