Thematic guide informs about 56 legacies, personal and family fonds preserved in Historical Archives of Belgrade. Creators of these fonds are prominent families and individuals as well as public figures from politics, science, cultural and social life. Preserved archival material is evidence of their activities and work in different periods of time and of their influence on political, social and cultural life of Belgrade in 19th and 20th century.
The purpose of publishing this informative aid is to inform researchers and experts, as well as future users about creators of legacies, personal and family fonds and about content, diversity, extent and type of archival material preserved in these fonds. The publication contains following data on archival material: date and place of origin, content, extent, language, available informative aids and level of description of archival records in accordance with international standards.
The thematic guide first presents legacies, then personal fonds and in the end family fonds. Within each chapter, fonds are organized in alphabetical order. Additional significance of the guide is in biographies which abound in personal data, presenting to the researcher all information relevant for his work in one place.
Legacies and fonds preserved in Historical Archives of Belgrade contain diverse archival material interesting to many researchers who often use it in their work.

Bilingual publication Development of Tourism in Belgrade between the Two World Wars is a result of a research of archival and library material preserved in Historical Archives of Belgrade conducted for the exhibition on Kalemegdan in 2016. It was a common opinion that the tourism in this region began to develop after the Second World War. However this research demonstrated that this industry was highly developed in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and its capital, Belgrade.

 

Factors necessary for tourism were systematically and methodically developed in interwar Belgrade, like traffic infrastructure, hotels, legal directives, cultural, manifestation, sport and youth tourism. In this period first tourist agencies and representative offices were founded, theoretical literature and travel guide were published and first academy for hospitality management was established. Belgrade citizens were good hosts and tourists. Between the two world wars, all types of tourism known today appeared in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

 

Special part of publication is a Chronology of Tourism development in Serbian and in English.
